About Me
I have my master’s degree from Lesley University in education with creative arts integration., and my bachelor’s in Psychology from Oberlin College. I have lived in Boston for the past 11 years, working as a children’s music, art, dance, and drama teacher as well as an elementary school teacher. My primary hobby is songwriting and singing. I have a children’s album that I wrote and recorded, and perform around the city at various festivals and events.
My philosophy
My classroom is intended as a safe space for students to express their ideas and questions and develop confidence in their potential for learning. Students benefit from assuming an active role in the learning process through play and project based, experiential, collaborative, and task-based learning. Hands on and differentiated activities reinforce skills and lessons by allowing for both deeper access to learning and individual discovery in socially verifiable situations. We will work with rigor and creativity in the classroom, and any work sent home will allow students to practice their skills. I look forward to partnering with you in your child’s continued success, and please feel free to contact me with any questions or thoughts.
