Our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) Fair for Kindergarten II through 8th Grade is on Tuesday April 11th, 6:00 - 8:00 pm. It will be held at St. Peter Church's Hall at 75 Flaherty Way, South Boston, MA (plenty of parking). All St. Peter Families and Friends are welcome to attend. I am extremely proud of the students they have worked very hard on their projects.
Students will be sleeping over at the Science Museum this month!
February's poem of the month is Dreams, by Langston Hughes.
The poem of the month for December is titled "Why Nobody Pets the Lion at the Zoo," by John Ciardi.
Student Council has chosen to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness through a Tag Day this Friday.
We are taking a field trip to the Fire Museum this Friday!
Open house was a huge success last night! I sincerely thank all of the parents that were able to attend. I loved getting to meet with all of you and discuss the subjects we are learning this year. I hope in the coming months to post many more pictures and summaries of the fun activities we are doing so that you can have an open window into your child's learning. Thank you again for all of your support thus far. I know that this is shaping up to be a marvelous year!
This Friday will be our first spelling test. Students have a spelling choice board to assist with studying each night. On the board are fun and engaging ways to practice the spelling words. Students are also invited to come up with new ways to practice their words, as the more they read, write, and use the words in context, the better they will remember the spelling.
